The M5 East is a 10 kilometre long freeway that connects the M5 at King Georges Road in Beverly Hills with General Holmes Drive at Kyeemagh. It forms part of Sydney's Orbital network.

The M5 East bypasses more than
20 sets of traffic lights and takes up to 20 minutes off a trip between Liverpool and
Sydney Airport. Local communities also
benefit, with freight and other traffic reduced by
up to 40% on nearby streets.

Signage & DetoursAn alternative route is available to traffic during closures of the M5 East freeway. This alternative route is signposted as ‘D5’ along its length.
Variable message signs give motorists information on the timing of closures of the M5 East.
